Hello. My name is Sarah Shull. I am currently a senior at F. J. Reitz High School. I have played sports since I could walk. My first sport was soccer, but I have recently stopped playing. I still am on the swim team and tennis team. I am involved in many extracurricular activities including National Honors Society, Latin Club, Student Council, Freshman Orientation Leader, Peers Project, and 4-H. During the summer, I work at Helfrich Golf Course as a grounds keeper. I am proud to say that I am a 4.0 student, and I take all honors and AP classes. This website explains my senior service learning project and includes more information about my self.
For my senior service learning project, I volunteered my time to run Christ Camp. I worked with my sister, Hannah Shull, to help the Lutheran Community Outreach Center's food pantry.Christ Camp provided a fun and safe place for children to come when their guardians were waiting for food at the food pantry. At Christ Camp, children would play games, eat healthy snacks, make crafts, and shoot basketball. Christ Camp was rewarding to the participants and me. We were asked to organize one more Christ Camp than we had planned because the children and families requested it. Christ Camp was an opportunity for under-served children to have a positive experience in a church while enjoying group activities and also one-on-one attention.
This portfolio contains a compilation of writings that I have written over the course of my senior year. Throughout this portfolio, I have had the opportunity to explore several different types of writings. The Reitz Senior Portfolio provided me with important essays for college applications that played a crucial role in earning several college scholarships.
